Stylish, Functional Design for Short-Term Rentals
Because this was an Airbnb rental, our priority was to combine luxury with low-maintenance practicality. We selected darker-toned furniture and finishes to withstand everyday wear and tear while maintaining a sophisticated look. Outdoor rugs were used throughout to make cleaning and maintenance easier between guest stays — a key consideration for short-term rental properties.
The open-plan layout seamlessly integrates a compact dining area, lounge, and sleeping zone, creating a cohesive and versatile space for guests. To enhance comfort and privacy, we installed lined wave curtains that block out light while still allowing guests to enjoy the beautiful sea views that make Sea Point so desirable.
Luxury Finishes and Investment-Driven Design Choices
With a high-end budget, the design direction focused on using quality materials and furnishings to create a premium guest experience. From the furniture and linens to the appliances and crockery, every detail was carefully chosen to align with a luxury Airbnb experience. This approach not only elevated the interior aesthetic but also allowed the client to position the property at a higher nightly rate, attracting the right clientele and maximizing the return on investment.
The project was completed in November 2023, just in time for Cape Town’s high summer season. The timing proved to be highly successful — the property performed exceptionally well, and the client was thrilled with the outcome.
